Fred Amaku scored ten minutes from times as Maroons ended a 40-day wait without victory to defeat Gaddafi 1-0 on Wednesday.
Amaku’s goal also saw the Prison Warders record only their only third win of the season, much to the relief of the under-fire, Muhammad Senfuna.
For the visitors who failed to match the performance displayed in their 1-0 win over holders Vipers, last week, they continue to struggle away from home.
Maroons who did more of the defending in the opening 45 minutes, it was evident as they struggled to create a single scoring chance.
The withdrawal of Gaddafi defender Jamaldine Buchochera at the start of second half saw Maroons taking advantage and they started to dominate the proceedings.
And in just 10 minutes of the second half, Shafiq Bakaki produced a block on the goal line to deny Amaku.
Moments later, the in-form Alex Kitata missed a seater as he failed to guide home from close range with Maroons goalkeeper Simon Tamale already beaten.
Ten minutes from time, Amaku struck. The striker squeezed a clever low drive into the net after receiving from Samson Kigozi at the edge of the box, for the game’s only goal.
Maroons stays in 11th position with 13 points while Gaddafi are in eighth with 15 points.
