In preparation for the upcoming 2023/24 season, KCCA FC has unveiled its complete technical team. The club made several key appointments and adjustments, aiming to strengthen their coaching staff and support personnel. Head Coach Sergio Traguil will lead the team, assisted by Luis Manuel Correira, while former assistant coach Jackson Magera makes a triumphant return to the club as the first-team coach.
Magera, who previously served as KCCA FC’s assistant coach for the first team and head coach of the junior team, left the club in 2021. However, the talented coach has now been appointed for a three-year period, starting from July 1, 2023. Magera brings with him a wealth of experience, having also served as the head coach for the U17 and U15 Uganda Men’s National Football Teams.
A notable addition to the technical team is Eduardo Lazaro Ramon Leiva, who will oversee the newly introduced role of Strength and Conditioning Coach. Hailing from Cuba, Leiva will play a crucial role in optimizing the physical fitness and conditioning of the players, further enhancing their performance on the field.
The club has also decided to retain several key members of its technical team. Oloya Moses will continue as the Goalkeepers Coach, while Saka Mpiima has been confirmed as the Junior Team Head Coach for the upcoming season. Ayobo Felix will maintain his position as the Club’s Fitness Coach, ensuring the players remain in top shape throughout the season.
In the medical department, Ivan Ssewanyana will continue serving as the Club’s Doctor, while Tusuubira Emmanuel has been appointed as the Club’s Physiotherapist, providing essential care and support for the players’ physical well-being.
Additional roles within the technical team include Bashir Kawoya as the Club’s Kits Man and Betty Nantale as the Kits Assistant, responsible for ensuring the players have all the necessary equipment and gear for training and matches.
With the announcement of the new technical team, KCCA FC bids farewell to Jackson Mayanja, Nsaziro Sam Charles Ssenyange, and David Nassani Mutenza, who have played interim coaching roles within the club. The club acknowledges their significant contributions to the success of KCCA FC and wishes them well in their future endeavors.
KCCA FC is optimistic that the assembled technical team, under the leadership of Sergio Traguil, will provide the necessary expertise and guidance to help the club achieve its goals in the upcoming 2023/24 season. With an experienced and dedicated staff, KCCA FC is ready to compete at the highest level and maintain its position as one of Uganda’s leading football clubs.
