Rising Star Khasim Murungi Shines Bright at Club Obligato.

The atmosphere at Club Obligato was electric as Khasim Murungi, a rising boxer, clinched victory over the experienced Derrick Mubiru in a controversial fight during week 10 of the Uganda Boxing Champions League.

Despite a slow start, Murungi staged a dramatic comeback in the final round, earning the judges’ decision and the crowd’s adoration.

The night was graced by prominent figures, including Moses Muhangi, the President of the Uganda Boxing Federation, the suave fashion icon Abryanz Collections, and the sensational artist Grenade Official. Their presence added an air of glamour to an already charged evening.

It is important to note that we set the stage for an eagerly awaited Week 11 showdown on September 23, 2023.

In more action of the boxing night, Nadia Najemba dominated Jalia Nali with a flawless 5-0 victory just after her maternity break.
Esther Namirimu from Kyengera showed her prowess, defeating Nancy Kwiocwiny from Katabi in the Light weight category with a convincing 5-0 score.

Scovia Muzira of Lukanga mirrored Esther’s success with a 5-0 win against Sharifah Nanyonjo from Zebra in the light middle women’s division.

In the men’s bouts, Ochan Samuel representing KCCA asserted his dominance, securing a unanimous 5-0 decision against Trevor Mudenya from East Coast in the Bantam weight category.

Sadat Kilwana, hailing from Zebra, showcased his skills by stopping Mustafa Sempijja from Katwe in Round 4 of the light heavyweight match, leaving Sempijja outclassed.

Brian Nkurunziza, fighting for Kololo, displayed finesse with a perfect 5-0 victory over Hakim Lubega from Zebra in the Bantamweight youth division.

Lastly, Bernard Ochieng of Sparks engaged in a tight battle with Ashraf Galabuzi in the Light Bantam juniors category, ultimately winning by a narrow 3-2 scoreline.
