Kawempe Muslim has kicked off the season impressively remaining the only team yet to lose a point in
the FuFa Women Super League. The Valley warriors have secured two consecutive wins against Rines
and UCU Lady Cardinals respectively putting them on top of Super League table with six points.
The team has set their sights on the Women’s Super League title after an electrifying start to the season.
Their Assistant head coach, Moses Nkata revealed this morning on NBS Sport that they have been
working tirelessly during the offseason to address the shortcomings that narrowly denied them the title
last year.
Speaking about their ambitions, Nkata emphasized, "Of course every team has the right to claim the title
and for us our primary goal is to secure it this season. We have an exceptional group of players who are
all motivated to achieve this. We have the determination needed to claim the title ;
The club that has a history of being pivotal in nurturing stars like Sandra Nabweteme, Hasifah
Nassuna, Ruth Aturo, Tracy Jones Akiror, Juliet Nalukenge, Yudaya Nakayenze, and many others still
boosts key players that Coach Nkata says they will leverage on as they continue their title run. Mary
Kabacurezi who scored Kawempe’s only goal against UCU Lady Cardinals is one of those. Coach Nkata
expressed his pride in the former Tooro Queens striker saying “I am happy Mary got to be one of the
players on the score card. She is a hardworker and more is expected from her this season”.
Kawempe Muslims faces second placed She Maroons in their next game as the season progresses.
