Busoga United fought back from a tough situation to snatch a 2-2 draw against Bright Stars at the FUFA Technical Centre in Jinja.
The game started with Bright Stars taking the lead in the 23rd minute when Sharif Nsereko scored, assisted by Shafik Kakande.
Things got worse for Busoga United as Issa Bugembe doubled Bright Stars’ lead in the 36th minute, with an assist from Denis Kaka Omony.
But Busoga United did not give up. They came back strong in the second half. Just eight minutes into the second period, Jeremy Matata scored for Busoga United in the 53rd minute, assisted by Hassan Kintu.
The comeback was completed when Franco Mugomba levelled the score for Busoga United in the 66th minute.
Despite their efforts, neither team could find a winning goal in the remaining time.
This result means Busoga United moved up from 15th to 14th position on the table standings with 17 points from 20 matches, just one point away from safety.
On the other hand, Bright Stars remain in 11th place with 25 points from 21 matches.
Looking ahead, Busoga United faces a tough test against KCCA at the MTN Omondi Stadium on March 28th, while Bright Stars will take on Gaddafi on March 31st at Kavumba Recreation Centre.
