President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo has applauded CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe for orchestrating what he called one of the most successful editions of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations to date.
He made the remarks during a high-profile meeting with the CAF held in Kinshasa, where President Tshisekedi praised the body’s dedication to advancing football across the continent.
The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, held earlier this year, captivated football fans worldwide with its electrifying matches and unforgettable moments.
The meeting in Kinshasa also served as a platform to discuss football development initiatives within the Democratic Republic of Congo.
President Tshisekedi reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating closely with CAF to enhance football infrastructure, talent development, and grassroots initiatives in the country.
Furthermore, the meeting shed light on CAF’s ongoing efforts to promote gender equality and inclusivity in football.
CAF said that initiatives such as the CAF D License Coaching Programme for Women’s Football in the Democratic Republic of Congo were set up to empower women in sports and create more opportunities for female coaches to excel.
