The UPL Secretariat has announced that they received a letter dated March 14, 2024, from URA FC, notifying them that Mehta Stadium is to undergo renovations.
These renovations are to allow the transformation of the stadium into a cricket facility ahead of the upcoming ICC World Cup.
The UPL Secretariat say that in light of this situation, URA requested to relocate their upcoming home match against Vipers to MTN Omondi Stadium-Lugogo while they secure a substitute home ground.
It is worth noting that URA have maintained an unbeaten record at Mehta Stadium this season, winning 7 matches out of 10 and drawing 3.
URA, who sit seventh on the Uganda Premier League table with 31 points have five remaining home fixtures this season, which will feature matches against Vipers, NEC, Busoga United, KCCA, and Bright Stars.
