The FUFA Executive Countrywide Tours, aimed at engaging club officials and addressing grassroots football issues, continued today with a meeting with members of Kampala Central District Football Association at Kenedia Hotel, Katwe.
In his speech, FUFA President Hon. Moses Magogo emphasized the pivotal role of clubs in the football ecosystem.
“Clubs are the foundation of any form of football. The District clubs are the first contacts of the beautiful game,” he said.
Addressing practical concerns, President Magogo stressed the importance of accurate player registration.
“It is important for all clubs to submit proper and factual information about players when registering players with the FUFA Competitions. This will limit any challenges in the future when a player makes a transfer from one club to another,” he emphasized.
The football leaders present at the meeting raised a spectrum of issues, underscoring the hurdles faced at the grassroots level. These issues included difficulties in player registration, concerns about refereeing standards, fair compensation on player transfers, financial limitations, and exorbitant fees for using primary school playgrounds.
Yusuf Chuni Kyeyune, thebChairman of the Kampala Central District Football Association, expressed hope that the FUFA Executive would provide feasible solutions.
“Mr. President, we are glad to welcome you to Kampala Central. My people have challenges they are facing, and we are hopeful that the Executive will help to provide solutions within their means to what is happening at this level of running football in the 4th division and regional leagues,” he said.
The FUFA Executive will meet with football leaders from Kawempe and Nakawa on Friday and Saturday, respectively before heading to the East at the start of April.
