Kampala University beat MUBS 2-1 in Kavumba on Friday to claim the third place in this season’s University football league. Nazar Benjamin scored for MUBS while Kampala University won through Nuhu Kalema and Joshua Odeke goals. Vincent Tumusiime, the Kampala University coach believes it has been a successful season for them. “We shall get back and reorganize for better next season but a third place is good enough this season I must say,” he noted.
The action preceded this Saturday’s final at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo as 2019 champions UCU take on 2016 losing finalists Nkumba University in the unpredictable final. Nkumba that earlier ejected last season champions Uganda Martyrs-Nkozi, ejected Kampala University at the semifinals while UCU saw off MUBS. The winner smiles home with Shs5m while the losing finalist takes Shs3m. Uganda Martyrs University –Nkozi won last season’s title beut were eliminated by Nkumba at the quarter finals this season.
