Ugandan Boxers Shine at the Mandela Africa Boxing Cup

Ugandan boxers showcased their prowess at the inaugural Mandela Africa Boxing Cup held in Durban, South Africa, from April 15th to 21st, 2024. Uganda was represented by a team of seven talented fighters of which five won medals at the event.

Namutebi Erina was the standout performer at the event having to settle for silver after a freak injury to her right hand.

In the 57kg Featherweight category, Ndagire Sharua clinched the Bronze medal joining debutant Nabikolo Fatuma who won bronze in the 54kg Bantamweight category.

Matouv Ukasha and Nakalema Emily also earned Bronze medals in their respective categories.
