Uganda’s Under-20 national handball team has commenced intensive training as they prepare for the upcoming Zone V IHF Men’s Trophy. The tournament, scheduled to unfold from May 12th to May 18th, 2024, is set to take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The team, already in camp, is rigorously honing their skills and tactics in anticipation of the challenging competition ahead. With the championship fast approaching, the players are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success on the court.
Uganda formally confirmed its participation in the tournament on April 14th. The confirmation came after thorough assessments ensuring that the selected athletes met both the physical and medical prerequisites to compete at this level.
The Zone V IHF Men’s Trophy has drawn participation from nations including Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Djibouti, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, and Sudan.
The stakes are high for the Ugandan contingent, as success in this tournament would propel them to represent Zone V at the prestigious IHF Intercontinental 2025 World Championship.
