Boxer Nerrick Secures Gold at 2024 National Boxing Open Championship

Ugandan boxer Tumusiime Nerrick, also known as “Nerrick Bulabe,” emerged victorious in the 71kg category at the 2024 Uganda National Boxing Open Championship, held from April 22nd to April 27th, 2024, at Lugogo’s Volleyball Grounds. His triumph in this highly competitive event captured the attention of boxing enthusiasts and highlighted his exceptional talent.

Stepping up from the welterweight category to the 71kg Elite division for this championship, Nerrick showcased his versatility and determination. In a thrilling final match, he secured a narrow victory of 3-2 over Kibra Owen, a formidable opponent who is a product of the national team.

Looking ahead, Nerrick has set his sights on the upcoming Champions League, where he aims to challenge Kimbugwe Bolline, the reigning champion in his weight class. Expressing his determination, Nerrick declared, “I am eager to face Bolline in the first match of the Champions League season 3. I call upon all fans to join me, as I am prepared to take on any opponent standing in my way.”

The Uganda Boxing Champion League Season 3 is scheduled to commence on May 11th, 2024, promising another exciting platform for Nerrick and other talented boxers to showcase their skills and compete for glory on the national stage.
