Four years after it hosted the last international match, Mandela national stadium-Namboole is set to host two premier league fixtures this Wednesday as test games for the facility that is undergoing renovation.
Ema Okwi and Fahad Bayo scored for Uganda Cranes as they beat Malawi 2-0 in November 2019 before the stadium was put out of use for renovation in 2020.
As BUL face Vipers before KCCA takes SC Villa in the night action, fans across the country are looking forward to their return to the Uganda Cranes official home.
To the SC Villa fans, it is a memorable experience returning to their former home from where they lifted their last title –the Stanbic Uganda cup in 2015.
The test matches are a requirement if CAF is to inspect the stadium again as FUFA desperately pushes to have the next World Cup qualifier games against Botswana and Algeria in early June played at the Uganda Cranes fortress.
