Badminton National Team Returns Home After International Tour

The national badminton team has arrived back in the country after a comprehensive international tour, which saw them compete in various tournaments across the globe.

The team that comprised of Tracy Naluwooza, Husina Kobugabe, Shamika Mohammed Rafi, and Gladys Mbabazi started their journey at the Africa Games, where they showcased commendable performance, clinching one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.

Following their success at the Africa Games, the team shifted their focus towards accumulating crucial Olympic qualification points.

The pinnacle of their tour was their representation of Africa as the sole team in the Uber Cup category at the prestigious 2024 Thomas and Uber Cup held in China. Despite their unwavering efforts, the team faced formidable challenges, succumbing to defeat in all three matches during their Uber Cup campaign.

However, the team remains undeterred as they return home, ready to regroup and channel their energy towards the National Badminton League.
