In the opening fixture of the 2024 season, Mbogo High Warriors displayed dominance on the badminton court, securing a resounding 4-1 victory against Luwero’s Ndejje University. Despite missing their captain, Tracy Naluwooza, currently representing the Uganda Women’s National Badminton team in the pursuit of Olympic qualification points, the defending champions showcased their prowess.
With Naluwooza set to return this weekend on May 18th, Mbogo High is gearing up for a crucial series of matches dubbed the “Ties of Death” at the NCS Lugogo Indoor Stadium. Head Coach William Kabindi acknowledged the forthcoming challenges, emphasizing the talent dispersed across all teams in the league.
Coach Kabindi stated, “I acknowledge the challenges we have ahead of the fixtures at the weekend because all teams across the league have talented players.” He expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and anticipated a tough competition even with Naluwooza’s return.
The upcoming matches include a lineup of intense battles in both the Super League and Corporate League categories. In the Super League clashes, teams such as Ndejje University, CFK Patriots Club, Kinawa High Schools, Victoria University, Nawandala SSS, and Sharing Badminton Club will go head-to-head in fierce competition.
Meanwhile, in the Corporate League clashes, Mbogo High Corporates, State House Badminton Club, CFK Corporate Club, Zaabu Badminton Club, and Equity Bank Badminton Club are set to engage in spirited contests to secure victory.
