The newly constructed netball and basketball courts at the Hamz Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds are set to open this Saturday 1st June sparking excitement among players and coaches alike.
The upgraded facilities have been lauded as a significant improvement for the netball and basketball communities with the facelift of the netball courts particularly well-received.
The reopening event will feature a highly anticipated matchup between East Africa champions NIC and league holders Prisons Netball Club. Additionally, KCCA will face off against Makindye Weyonje, promising a thrilling day of netball action.
In parallel, the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) is optimistic about the new basketball facilities at the stadium. FUBA Vice President Hudson Segamwenge said they look forward to hosting local basketball events at the stadium soon.

Beyond netball and basketball, the grand reopening will also feature boxing and kickboxing matches, along with performances by top local artists.
