She Corporate has advanced to the semifinals of the FUFA Women’s Cup after a decisive 1-0 victory over Kampala Queens.
The lone goal came early in the match, with Brenda Munyana finding the net within the first two minutes, securing the win for She Corporate.
The team’s coach, Hassan, expressed his elation following the match, commending his players and technical team for their hard work and commitment.
“This win sends a clear message to other teams that we are a force to be reckoned with. We are hungry for the trophy, and we will stop at nothing to achieve our goal,” he stated.
Defender Nakato Amina echoed her coach’s sentiments, sharing her excitement about the victory.
“Everyone was talking about this derby, and we’re thrilled to have come out on top. Our focus now shifts to the next game of the semifinals, and we’re determined to win the remaining two games in the FUFA Women Elite League to make it a double win,” Amina remarked.
Speaking after the game, Kampala Queens’ coach, Charles Ayiekoh Lukula, acknowledged the team’s struggles this season.
“We didn’t have the character this season. As a coach, I did my part, but it’s up to the players to implement. We’ll go back to the drawing board and bounce back stronger next season,” he said.
This defeat means Kampala Queens will finish the 2023/24 season without a trophy, a disappointing outcome for the team. She Corporate, however, is in a strong position to contend for both the FUFA Women’s Cup and the FUFA Women Elite League, aiming for a historic double victory.
