The Netball Uganda Normalization Committee has issued a formal invitation for all active netball clubs in Uganda to apply for provisional membership. This announcement follows the revocation of the Uganda Netball Federation’s Certificate of Recognition on October 25, 2023, and aims to ensure compliance with the National Sports Act, 2023.
In a statement released by Chairperson Moses Mwase, he emphasized the importance of this step in drafting a new constitution and electing a new executive board for Uganda’s netball governing body. He said the call was for both women’s and men’s netball clubs currently active within the country.
Clubs interested in applying for provisional membership must submit an application using the provided template and pay a non-refundable fee of UGX 200,000 with the payment to be made to the Uganda Olympic Committee’s account at Stanbic Bank. The deadline for submission is 5:00 pm on Monday, June 17, 2024.
The Normalization Committee also invited provisional members and other stakeholders to propose suggestions for the new governing body’s constitution. Moses Mwase said these proposals would be reviewed at an upcoming Constitutional Review Conference, with details on the date and venue to be announced.
