The proprietor of Nakivubo War Memorial Ground, also known as Hamz Stadium, Hajji Hamis Kiggundu has appointed Rogers Mulindwa as the new Board Chairman of the recently-renovated stadium.
Mulindwa, who is also an Executive Committee Member of FUFA, has been tasked with guiding the strategic growth and development of the facility.
Speaking on the appointment, the proprietor Kiggundu expressed confidence in Mulindwa’s ability to steer the venue towards financial sustainability and continued improvement.
“We expect him to guide the stadium to further growth and ensure that the facility generates income for its sustainability,” Kiggundu said.
Mulindwa, who recently chaired the organising committee for the grand opening ceremony of the HAMZ Stadium on June 1st, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and his commitment to the role.
“This is not a full-time job, but I shall offer my best, and together, we shall direct our focus towards the continued improvement of this facility,” he stated.
Mulindwa has served as a CAF Media Officer for 4 years, and as the spokesperson of CECAFA for eight years. He has also previously served on the board of Nakivubo Stadium and as the longest-serving Secretary of the Masaza Cup.
