Minister of State for Sports Hon. Peter Ogwang, accompanied by the Local Organizing Committee, conducted a pre-inspection visit to Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School over the weekend. The visit aimed to assess the preparedness of the two schools ahead of the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) delegation’s arrival.
The two schools are set to co-host the 21st edition of the FEASSSA Games in August. Uganda, the defending champion, won the previous edition held in Rwanda.
Both institutions have been undergoing rigorous preparations to ensure they meet the standards required for the event. Six football pitches have been established, along with a main field designated for track events. The pre-inspection team also evaluated the accommodation facilities and the multi-purpose surfaces intended for basketball and volleyball.
Minister Ogwang expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating, “The commitment and effort put into these preparations are commendable. We are confident that Bukedea Comprehensive School and Amus College School will provide excellent facilities for the athletes.”
Uganda has previously hosted the FEASSSA Games on four occasions, in the cities of Kampala, Mbarara, Fort Portal, and Gulu.
The FEASSSA delegation’s visit is anticipated to provide further insights and recommendations to ensure all aspects of the event are adequately covered, ensuring a smooth and successful competition in August.
