England squandered the opportunity to become the first team from Group C to grab a spot in the Round of 16 of the 2024 European Championship.
The Three Lions drew 1-1 with Denmark in a close contest played at the Deutsche Bank Stadium in Frankfurt on Thursday evening.
Harry Kane opened the scoring for Gareth Southgate’s charges in 18th minute before Morten Hjulmand equalized for the Danish Dynamite in the 34th minute with a stunning low shot from distance.
The sharing of spoils between England and Denmark blew Group C open following a similar scoreline in the other game played earlier between Slovenia and Serbia in Munich.
After two rounds of fixtures, England lead the standings with four points, Denmark and Slovenia are tied on two, whereas Serbia occupies the bottom with one point.
Each of the teams has a chance of advancing to the knockout stage in the final group stage games to be played on Tuesday, June 25.
As England entertains Slovenia in Cologne, on the other hand, Denmark will tussle it out with Serbia in Munich.
