Vipers Sports Club have secured the services of young and rising forward Kenneth Kimera from Wakiso Giants.
The striker was unveiled on the morning of Saturday, June 22nd, after putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the six-time Uganda Premier League champions.
Kimera, who impressed with his goalscoring exploits for Wakiso Giants last season, was a sought-after transfer target, with fellow top club SC Villa also vying for his signature. However, the 15-year-old prodigy has ultimately chosen to join the Venoms, further bolstering their formidable attacking lineup.
The youngster’s debut campaign in the top flight saw him find the net an impressive 10 times in 27 matches for Wakiso Giants, cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting young talents to keep an eye on.
Prior to his spell with Wakiso Giants, Kimera had also caught the eye playing for Gomba in the Masaza Cup.
Kimera’s arrival at the St. Mary’s Stadium im Kitende comes on the back of the club’s recent signings of left-back Derrick Ndahiro and Angolan forward Pedro Hondo aka Sukuya
The Venoms are clearly leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of vying for next season’s titles and making a strong impact in continental competitions in the due course.
The Kitende-based side unveiled their new head coach Nikola Kavazovic on Wednesday, and the Serbian oversaw his first training session with the team yesterday, as they kicked-off their pre-season preparations.
