Kibira, representing Lukanga Boxing Club, made a sensational entrance into the Light Middleweight division after competing in the Welterweight (67kg) category for the past two seasons. Despite narrowly missing out on the National Open Gold to Nerrick Tumusiime, Kibira’s strong performance underscored his prowess and potential in his new weight class.
In the same weight class, East Coast’s Depark Mawanda secured a 5-0 unanimous decision victory over Ashraf Mutaasa of Mutajjazi. Mawanda’s win further emphasizes the competitive nature of the Light Middleweight Elite 71kg category, which promises thrilling matchups in the coming bouts.
