FUFA Resumes Executive Countrywide Tours to Engage Grassroots Football Stakeholders

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has resumed its Executive Countrywide Tours, with a focus on engaging football stakeholders across the nation.

A delegation led by FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim, accompanied by Vice Presidents Justus Mugisha (1st VP) and Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi (3rd VP), along with Executive Committee members Sam Mpiima, Rogers Mulindwa, and Ronnie Kalema, met with stakeholders from Buganda Zone 3 in Mityana on Saturday before proceeding to the Kitara region on Sunday.

These tours, which began in March, aim to address issues affecting grassroots football. They took a brief hiatus to accommodate the demanding football calendar, including the conclusion of the 2023/24 Startimes Uganda Premier League season and two World Cup qualifier games held at Namboole Stadium.

The engagement with stakeholders from Kampala, Eastern, and Buganda regions has already taken place.

During the meetings, several key ideas were proposed to enhance football development at the grassroots level. These included FUFA’s support for zonal leagues and the introduction of coaching lessons in local languages.

FUFA say that the initiatives discussed will contribute significantly to the growth and sustainability of football from the grassroots level upwards.
