Uganda Rugby Union President Kayangwe Godwin, Vice President Hon. Andrew Oulanyah, and CEO Isaac Lutwama, along with other dignitaries, on Wednesday evening visited the Rugby Cranes 15s team in Gauteng, South Africa.
The visit aimed to assess the team’s preparations for the upcoming 2024 Rugby Africa Cup.
The Rugby Cranes have been in a 10-day training camp, invited by Blue Bulls Rugby, where they played two test matches, securing one win and one loss. Their final test game is scheduled against Loftus 200 in Pretoria on July 5.
Uganda is set to host the Rugby Africa Cup from July 18 to 29, with matches taking place at Namboole Stadium.
This tournament follows the 2022 edition, where Namibia triumphed over Kenya to qualify for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
Uganda will also host the 2025 edition of the competition.
