Week four of the Uganda Boxing Champions League’s third season unfolded in thrilling fashion on Saturday at Club Obligato.
The highlight of the night was Amoko Innocent of UPDF Boxing Club claiming a decisive victory over Adinan Yasin with a unanimous 5-0 decision.
Adinan Yasin’s return to the ring was highly anticipated after he missed last season due to health issues. Stepping back into the Light Welterweight category, Adinan faced a formidable challenge against Amoko.
Despite his efforts to reclaim his championship form, Adinan struggled to match Amoko’s relentless aggression from the opening bell.
Adinan, known for his impressive legacy with the national team, The Bombers, looked rusty and lacked the necessary sharpness in his comeback fight.
Though his performance was not up to his usual standard, he managed to stay in the fight and complete all five rounds, showcasing his resilience and determination.
Amoko’s victory not only cemented his status in the league but also sent shockwaves through the Light Welterweight division, which includes notable contenders like Paul Raskara, Jafar Onen, and Reagan Magumba.
