The Uganda Boxing Champions League is set to make a return on July 20, 2024, following a successful event in week four held at Club Obligato in Kampala.
This upcoming event will feature an exciting lineup of 20 bouts, promising an action-packed day for boxing enthusiasts.
Highlighting the event, Kyobe Jonathan of Lukanga Boxing Club will take on Mawanda Frank of Kololo Boxing Club in the featherweight (57 kg) category.
Both boxers will be making their debut appearances in season three of the Uganda Boxing Champions League.
In the other anticipated fights of week five, the Junior Welterweight (66 kg) division will see Ssentamu Yusuf of Zebra face Ayebare Charles Gideon.
In the Featherweight (57 kg) juniors, Sekiranda Daniel of COBAP will go up against Ssebina Cyrus of Subena.
The Pin Weight (46 kg) juniors will feature Musaazi Reagan of Nansana.K against Kayemba Imran of Lukanga.
The Light Fly (48 kg) juniors will have Nsubuga Ali of Lukanga facing Muhaymuni Omar of COBAP, while Nakabuye Kevin of Busega will fight Oleru Saida of Arua in another Pin Weight (46 kg) juniors match.
In the Fly (50 kg) juniors, Nanyanzi Anna of Kalema will take on Mukisa Kallen of Lukanga.
Youth category matchups include the Middleweight (75 kg) bout between Owino Amir of Zebra and Ssemambo Ashraf of Brawn, and the Bantamweight (54 kg) clash featuring Igelat Stuart of KCCA versus Nkuruziza Brian of Kololo.
The Fly (51 kg) youth bout will see Nkusa Allawi of Kyengera against Nsubuga Samuel of Kalinabiri.
A special contest in the Light Welterweight (63.5 kg) division will feature Lubega Reagan of East Coast facing Abuodallah Azizi of Gideon.
The Bantamweight (54 kg) youth division will see Latifah Gift of Arua against Salima Ibrahim of Mutajjazi, while the Cruiserweight (86 kg) youth division will feature Makumbi Darius of Lukanga against Wadune Alex of East Coast.
The Featherweight (57 kg) match will have Ndagire Sharua of Lukanga up against Mukisa Jemimah of UNI.O.P. In the Elite Women’s Heavyweight (81+ kg) category, Namabiro Joy of Police will face Atwine Diana of UPDF.
The Super Heavyweight (92+ kg) bout will see Geko Solomon of Lukanga against Alirazak Said of Arua.
Other notable matchups include the Lightweight (60 kg) bout between Kaddu Julius of Katabi and Kyeyune Mathias of Lukanga, the Welterweight (67 kg) clash featuring Baate Nuhu of COBAP versus Sunde Simon of Nansana.K, the Middleweight (75 kg) match between Sembatya Arafat of Lukanga and Semugayire John of Katabi, and the Light Welterweight (63.5 kg) bout featuring Raskara Paul of KCCA against Kimera Eddy of Kyengera.
The action will be broadcast live on NBS Sport starting at 8 PM.
