Silverbacks shooting guard and former City Oilers captain Tony Drileba who joined Chaux Sport Basketball Club just over a month ago, has successfully undergone surgery following a closed injury to his left foot.
The injury occurred while Drileba was preparing for an upcoming return match against Dynamo de Bujumbura.
The injury was diagnosed as a fracture of the 5th metatarsal in Drileba’s left foot. According to the club’s official statement, the surgery to treat the fracture was successful.
Despite the positive outcome of the operation, Drileba is expected to be sidelined for an extended period, impacting his ability to contribute to the team’s performance in the near future.
Tony Drileba joined Chaux Sport Basketball Club from City Oilers after his appearance at the Basketball Africa League where he played 78 minutes and scored 11 points.
