Kitara Football Club have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Marvin Nyanzi on a one-year contract.
The 20-year-old joins the Royals after the expiry of his contract with Wakiso Giants, where he had been playing since 2022.
After the signing, Nyanzi, who has also previously featured for Buganda province Buddu and Kajjansi United, expressed his excitement at the new opportunity.
“This is another opportunity for me to work harder. I made the decision easily after talking to the coach because he showed me that he wanted to work with me. I’m excited and can’t wait to get started,” he said.
Kitara have been actively bolstering their squad ahead of the new season. In addition to Nyanzi, the club has also signed midfielder Titus Sematimba from Wakiso Giants and defender Ronald Otti from BUL.
Nyanzi, who stands at 5’8″ and weighs 63 kgs, is known for his attacking prowess and creativity in the midfield.
His arrival is expected to provide a much-needed boost to Kitara’s midfield department as they look to defend their Uganda Cup title and make a strong push in the upcoming StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
The reigning Stanbic Uganda Cup champions today morning departed for Ethiopia ahead of their friendly friendly game with Mechal Sports Club, as they gear up for their upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
However, Marvin Nyanzi and Titus Ssematimba, who was unveiled on Tuesday, have not travelled with the 19-man squad to the Horn of Africa.
