The stage is set for an epic showdown in the Euro 2024 final as Spain and England prepare to face off in Berlin.
Spain, boasting an impeccable record with six wins from six matches, including triumphs over Germany and France, enters the final as the favorite to secure their first European title since 2012.
However, England, despite a more tumultuous path marked by late goals and penalty shootouts, poses significant threats to Spain’s ambitions.
Juan Mata, a pivotal player in Spain’s 2012 European Championship victory, has identified Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham and Manchester City’s Phil Foden as key players who could turn the tide in England’s favor.
“England always have players with tremendous physical ability. Lately they have added different ways of playing, some promoted by foreign coaches, who make the players more resourceful and complete,” Mata commented in an interview with Diario AS.
“Bellingham and Foden are very good. They are players who can win games by themselves. England have players who can create a goal and win a game just like that, in a final.”
Bellingham has been a standout performer at Euro 2024, continuing his impressive club form with two goals in the tournament and a crucial role in the quarter-final shootout victory over Switzerland.
The England Vs Spain final will be broadcast live on NBS Sport.
