Kitara has initiated a fundraising campaign dubbed “Operation Libya” to support their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The campaign aims to gather funds ahead of their preliminary round matches against Libya’s Al Hilal, with the first leg scheduled in Uganda on August 16th and the return leg a week later on Libya.
The club has outlined five funding categories, each offering distinct benefits to contributors. This structured approach is designed to engage a wide spectrum of supporters, ensuring substantial financial backing for the team.
The first category targets eight contributors, each required to pay UGX 10 million. These top-tier supporters will have the exclusive opportunity to travel with the team to Libya, enjoy VIP seasonal tickets, and receive home and away kits for their families.
The second category seeks to attract 30 contributors, each paying UGX 1 million. Contributors in this bracket will receive VIP seasonal tickets and home and away kits for their families.
The third category aims to enroll 500 contributors, each contributing UGX 100,000, with the reward of a seasonal ticket.
Similarly, the fourth category targets 500 supporters, each required to pay UGX 50,000, entitling them to a half-season ticket.
Lastly, the fifth category aims for 750 contributors, each paying UGX 25,000 to receive annual club membership cards.
Through this initiative, Kitara hopes to raise UGX 200 million, ensuring the team’s logistical and operational needs are met for their CAF Confederation Cup journey.
The club is optimistic that the enthusiastic support of their fans will propel them to success as they make their debut continentally.
