Budadiri West Member of Parliament and patron of Mbale Heroes Football Club, Hon. Nandala Mafabi has pledged to finance the club’s return to the Uganda Premier League after a 19-year hiatus.
The Mbale-based side secured promotion following a thrilling 2-1 victory over Onduparaka.
The politician and businessman has promised to purchase a club minibus, ensure timely payment of player and technical staff salaries, and provide a matchday incentive of UGX 1 million.
Joining the bandwagon of support, Hon. Masaba Karim, a Member of Parliament representing Mbale City, has contributed UGX 2 million towards the club’s development.
In addition to the monetary support, Karim has volunteered to refurbish the dressing rooms and washrooms at Mbale Municipal Stadium, which is currently awaiting FUFA approval to host Premier League matches.
He has also pledged UGX 200,000 for each game during the 2024/25 season.
The outpouring of support for Mbale Heroes did not end there. The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among, has made a substantial pledge of UGX 100 million to bolster the club’s preparations for the upcoming season.
The financial backing from these influential figures has undoubtedly injected a much-needed boost of confidence into the Mbale Heroes camp.
