Kitara Football Club forward Denis Omedi is brimming with confidence as his side prepares for a crucial CAF Confederation Cup clash against Al Hilal Benghazi in Libya.
Despite a narrow 2-3 defeat in the first leg last Friday, the Uganda Cranes attacker believes his team can overturn the deficit and progress to the next round.
Omedi, who impressed in the first leg with a commendable performance, is optimistic about Kitara’s chances of securing a positive result in the return fixture.
“We didn’t get the desired result in the first leg, but every player gave their all, especially in the second half,” he said to the club media.
The forward highlighted the team’s resilience and ability to score two goals against their Libyan opponents as a positive sign.
Acknowledging the tough challenge ahead, Omedi emphasized the team’s determination and belief in their capabilities.
“It will be a very tough game, but we have the determination and confidence to go far,” he stated.
The forward believes that by minimizing the errors that cost them the first leg, Kitara can turn the tie in their favor.
Kitara’s participation in the CAF Confederations Cup marks their debut in the prestigious continental club competition.
A victory by a 2 or more goals margin in the return leg would see them create history by advancing to the next round.
The match is scheduled for Friday at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi.
