In preparation for the upcoming 2024/25 Startimes Uganda Premier League season, 40 elite Ugandan referees participated in a high-intensity training session on Saturday, 24th August.
The session, held at Makerere University grounds, was part of their ongoing preparation, with the ultimate goal of securing 2025 FIFA badges.
The comprehensive training encompassed a variety of tests aimed at ensuring the referees were in peak condition.
These included medical assessments, fitness tests, endurance trials, and sprint exercises.
FUFA say the training is aimed at ensuring that the referees are both physically and mentally prepared to meet the demands of the new season.
With the new season set to kick off on 13th September, where KCCA will host URA in the opening match, the referees’ readiness is critical for the smooth running of the competition.
