The KCCA Football Club Holiday Clinic commenced on Monday, August 26th, 2024, drawing a large turnout of young aspiring footballers and their supportive parents.
Early in the morning, eager participants, aged 3-17, arrived at the KCCA FC premises to register for the clinic.
Upon registration, they were provided with their kits and prepared for a day filled with football-related activities.
Anisha Shahir Muhoozi, the CEO of KCCA FC, warmly welcomed the young athletes and expressed her excitement for the clinic.
“We are delighted to host this inaugural holiday football clinic at KCCA,” she stated.
“Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment where these young talents can learn, grow, and develop their football skills while also emphasizing important values like cooperation, discipline, and fair play,” she added.
The young participants were then treated to a photo session before being guided by experienced youth coaches.
The coaches conducted introductory sessions, discussing the reasons why football is such a popular sport, followed by practical training on the pitch.
Gilbert Muwonge, the Manager of Technical Services at KCCA, expressed his satisfaction with the clinic’s first day.
“The young lads were incredibly enthusiastic and eager to learn from our coaches,” he said.
“We are confident that by the end of the clinic, they will have significantly improved their football knowledge and skills,” he added.
The primary objective of the KCCA Holiday Football Clinic is to identify and nurture young football talent.
The clinic offers a structured and engaging platform for aspiring players to hone their skills under the guidance of experienced coaches. Both boys and girls aged 3-17 are eligible to participate.
Habib Kavuma, one of the KCCA Football Clinic coaches, shared insights into the day’s training.
“We focused on imparting essential techniques such as passing, dribbling, and ball control,” he explained. “We also incorporated fitness drills to enhance their stamina, speed, and agility.”
The clinic is scheduled to run from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 12 pm, and participants are required to pay a fee of 200,000 UGX.
