Having won the National Basketball League twice as a player with Falcons Basketball Club, Coach Andrew Tendo is on the verge of making history as the first Ugandan to win the title both as a player and a coach.
Coach Tendo confidently declared in an interview with NBS Sport, “It’s now going to be Oilers in Ten.”
Despite guiding the City Oilers to their 10th consecutive final, Tendo acknowledges that this season has been the toughest yet for the team. “Tough, tough,” he admitted.
“What has happened to me this season is something no coach would want to experience in a single season, but as a club, we managed to navigate the rough waters.”
It’s worth noting that midway through the season, the City Oilers lost three of their most crucial players: captain Jimmy Enabu, Tonny Drileba, and James Okello. Additionally, they also had to cope with the loss of Walujju Edrine.
The City Oilers will face the KIU Titans in the final of the Men’s National Basketball League, a rematch of last year’s final. Be sure to catch all the action live on NBS Sport.
