Barcelona Lock Down Partnership with Top Malian Academy

In a move to bolster their scouting network in Africa, FC Barcelona has officially partnered with the prestigious Academie Africa Foot in Mali.

This collaboration agreement, announced on Saturday, grants Barcelona preferential rights to secure the brightest young talents emerging from the academy.

The news comes after a Barcelona delegation, led by figures like Sergi Barjuan and Bernat Villa, traveled to Mali to oversee the signing.

Joining them were Moussa Kone, Barcelona’s head scout for Africa, and Spain’s ambassador to Mali, Antonio Guillen Hidalgo.

This partnership aligns with Barcelona’s recent focus on intensifying their scouting efforts across the African continent. The club has been actively searching for promising young players, and the alliance with Academie Africa Foot is already proving fruitful.

One standout talent that has caught Barcelona’s eye is Ibrahim Diarra. Diarra impressed during a trial with the club, showcasing his agility, speed, and versatility in attack.

His performances at the U-17 World Cup, where he netted five goals and provided three assists, further solidified his reputation as a top African prospect.

While visa limitations forced Diarra to return to Mali, Barcelona remains keen on acquiring his services once he turns 18 in December.

Standing at an imposing 1.80 meters, Diarra boasts a powerful long-range shot alongside his physical presence, making him a highly exciting prospect for Barcelona’s future.
