Netball Uganda has embarked on a new chapter with the election of Jocelyn Ucanda as its new president.
The election, which concluded after a year-and-a-half suspension of the previous administration, marks a significant turning point for the sport in Uganda.
All 12 members of the executive committee were elected unopposed, signaling a united front within the netball community.
Moses Mwase, chairman of the Normalisation Committee, emphasized the importance of a thorough and consultative election process to ensure a smooth transition of power.
In her acceptance speech, President Ucanda outlined her vision for the future of netball in Uganda. She pledged to prioritize transparency, accountability, and the development of grassroots programs.
A key goal is to secure a permanent home for netball in the country, providing a dedicated facility for training, competitions, and administrative functions.
Ucanda also stressed the importance of unity among regional delegates, stating, “We must work together as one to elevate the sport of netball in Uganda. By fostering a spirit of togetherness and love for the game, we can achieve great things.”
The newly elected executive committee comprises a diverse group of individuals who are passionate about netball.
