Soroti Cricket Academy Celebrates a Decade of Empowerment

The Soroti Cricket Academy is marking a significant milestone: its 10th anniversary.

Since its inception in 2014, the Academy has been instrumental in transforming the lives of over 1,800 young girls and boys through cricket, education, and community development.

Cricket Uganda Chairman Calls 2025 a Year of Progress and Hard Lessons

“We’ve stayed true to our vision of creating empowered youth with the ability to discover and fulfill their potential,” said Felix Musana, Chairman of the Soroti Cricket Academy. “We’ve achieved this through sports, education, and mentorship.”

What began as a small initiative with just four children has blossomed into a thriving program.

The Academy’s focus extends beyond cricket skills to encompass educational advancement and social issue sensitization.

With three cricket grounds, three professional cricket clubs, and partnerships with 18 schools, the Academy has made a substantial impact on the community.

To commemorate this milestone, the Academy is hosting two special events. The first one will be the 10th Anniversary Dinner on December 20th, a celebration honoring key stakeholders, supporters, beneficiaries, and partners, as well as recognizing outstanding performers and players.

The second will be a Cricket Carnival on December 21st featuring cricket games, a barbecue, music, and performances by top DJs.

The carnival aims to raise awareness about the Academy and the sport of cricket, attracting both cricket enthusiasts and newcomers.

The Soroti Cricket Academy is committed to expanding its reach and impact, with a goal of empowering 5,000 young people.

Felix Musana expressed gratitude to all past and present partners and called for continued support to create a brighter future for the youth of Soroti.
