Charles Lwanga’s outstanding form continued as he guided Villa to a dominant 6-1 victory over Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Premier League on Saturday at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The striker’s brace secured his place as the league’s leading scorer with seven goals after nine matchdays.

Lwanga overtook Vipers’ Allan Okello, who climbed to six goals the previous day with a header in Vipers’ 2-0 win over URA at the Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

Lwanga’s Scoring Streak

The former KCCA forward’s goals against Wakiso Giants added to his impressive tally, which includes a quadruple haul during Villa’s 5-0 thrashing of UPDF on Matchday 7.

Notably, all seven of his goals have come at Wankulukuku, reinforcing his dominance on home turf.

In the clash against Wakiso, Villa’s attacking prowess was on full display with goals from Patrick Kakande, Hakim Kiwanuka, Reagan Mpande, and David Owori, while Wakiso’s Marvin Oshaba netted a consolation penalty.

League Standings and Upcoming Fixtures

The win catapulted Morley Byekwaso’s side to fourth place on 14 points, with Villa showing clear intent to challenge for honors.

Wakiso Giants, however, languish in 13th place with just nine points, increasing pressure on their campaign.

Villa will next face second-placed NEC on Friday in what promises to be a crucial encounter, while Wakiso will attempt to bounce back on Tuesday when they host URA at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
