After a brief international break, the Women’s Super League resumes this Saturday, and Kawempe Muslim Women’s Football Club are eager to rediscover their winning touch.
Following two frustrating draws, the team is determined to bounce back and secure a victory against Uganda Martyrs.
The international break provided a valuable opportunity for several Kawempe players, including captain Phionah Nabulime, Agnes Nabukenya, and Jolly Kobusinje, to represent Uganda at the national level.
These experiences have infused the team with renewed energy and valuable lessons.
“I learned a lot from the national team, especially about seriousness, speed, and the importance of maintaining peak physical fitness for success,” shared Jolly Kobusinge, who made her national team debut against Algeria.
Despite the break, the team maintained its focus and continued rigorous training. Coach Kibirige Christopher expressed confidence in his squad’s preparedness for the challenges ahead.
“While our opponents are unpredictable, we have been diligently preparing for this match,” said Coach Kibirige. “We will combine our efforts and avoid the setbacks we encountered in the previous draws. Our goal is to secure a win this time.”
