Ugandan women’s football star, Juliet Nalukenge, is set to make a significant move in her career, as she is reportedly on the verge of joining Young Africans SC Women’s Football Team (Yanga Princess) in Tanzania.
According to Ugandan sports journalist Clive Kyazze, Nalukenge is currently in Tanzania to sign a two-year contract with the club.
Nalukenge, a prolific forward, has been a standout player in Uganda’s women’s football scene.
She rose to prominence with Kawempe Muslim between 2015 and 2021, before moving to Apollon Ladies in Cyprus.
A product of Uganda’s youth football system, the 21-year-old made her name as the captain of the U17 team, where she led them to notable successes.
She was also a key player for the U20 team, but her involvement with the senior Uganda Crested Cranes team has been intermittent.
Her talent and potential were recognized globally when she finished ninth in the 2021 NXGN Award for the best young female footballer, as awarded by Goal.com.
Additionally, Nalukenge was honored as the FUFA Female Player of the Year in 2019.
This move to Yanga Princess marks an exciting new chapter for Nalukenge, as she continues to build her career and cement her place among the continent’s top football talents.
