Kampala University is set to field a strong contingent of 143 athletes at the 13th East Africa University Games, scheduled to take place in Kenya from December 16th to 21st.
The team, flagged off by Deputy Vice Chancellor Wardah Rayab Gyagenda, will compete in ten sporting disciplines, including soccer, volleyball, woodball, netball, and basketball.
The university aims to defend its titles in women’s netball and handball while making its debut in the woodball competition.
“I urge you to maintain discipline while in Kenya and return victorious,” Deputy Vice Chancellor Gyagenda advised the athletes.
A total of 48 universities from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania will participate in the games.
Uganda will be represented by 18 institutions, including Bishop Stuart University, Bugema University, and Makerere University. Kenya will have 18 universities, and Tanzania will be represented by 8.
