Rotary Club of Bwebajja hosted a Wheelchair Basketball tournament aimed at raising awareness about spinal cord injuries and supporting those affected.
According to the representative of the Club President, Aheisibwe Gordeous, the game focused on providing both mental and physical support towards people living with disabilities as well as the patients with spinal cord injuries.
“In our communities, victims of spinal cord injuries are not talked about and yet many are having such problems. Most of the players in wheelchair basketball are victims of spinal cord injuries and diseases,” he noted.
The tournament held at International School Of Uganda (ISU) – LUBOWA included activities like Inspiring wheelchair basketball match, Free spinal cord consultations and sensitization, Donations of essential items to those in need.
