The Uganda Cranes CHAN team has concluded their final preparations for the crucial return leg match against Burundi in the CHAN 2024 Qualifiers.
The game will tip off at 6 PM today, Sunday 29th December at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
Coach Put emphasized the importance of maintaining a stable squad.
“We are currently evaluating the CHAN team’s performance. After analyzing the first leg, we have identified areas for improvement to enhance our overall performance,” he said.
“Introducing significant changes to the squad at this stage could hinder our ability to assess the team’s true potential. While minor adjustments will be made, we intend to retain the core of the team to foster confidence and ensure continuity,” he added.
The coach also extended a heartfelt appeal to the Ugandan fans, stating, “Ugandans have always been ardent supporters of the Cranes, and I am confident that they will continue to demonstrate their unwavering support during this crucial match. These are their boys, and they need their unwavering encouragement.”
He added, “We are immensely grateful for the incredible support we have received from the Ugandan public. Your unwavering support has created an electrifying and inspiring atmosphere, and we eagerly anticipate experiencing the same level of enthusiasm in the upcoming match.”
Uganda will co-host CHAN 2024 in February next year alongside Kenya and Tanzania. Games will be played at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
