Uganda Cubs’ Bogere Bags Real Stars Award

Uganda Cubs forward James Bogere attributes his Fortebet Real Stars monthly award win to teamwork having led the national U-17 football side to the 2025 U-17 AFCON.

His tally of seven goals in four games ensured Uganda won the CECAFA regional qualifier against Tanzania last month at Hamz Nakivubo stadium.

The Masaka Sunshine youngster saw off competition from Jude Ssemugabi and Allan Okello to clinch the award at a ceremony held today in Lugogo today.

“Team work makes performance easy. My teammates and coaches have supported me even when I struggled and now our focus is to qualify for the World Cup,” he said.

She Cranes mid-court player Margaret Baagala and welterweight boxer Nuhu Batte won the netball and boxing gongs respectively.

The Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards are aimed at recognizing outstanding sportsmen.
