MTN Monthly Tee Returns For 2025 Season

The MTN Monthly Tee returned over the weekend for the first edition of the year with over 130 golfers taking part at Entebbe golf club.

Participants competed across ladies, men, seniors and guests’ categories with prizes for the best performers.

Peace Hellen who recorded 64 nett playing off handicap 29 emerged the overall winner under the medal format of play to clinch the January trophy at the par 71 lakeside course.

Played under the medal mode of play, Andrew Bugembe won group A men with 70 nett, handicap 6. Daniel Opwonya scored 69 nett off handicap 17 to win group B while Stepanovic with 68 nett, handicap 20 won group C.

Maxi Byenkya, handicap 19 carded 69 nett to clinch the ladies’ category as Steven Kitamirike won the seniors (55+) having score 71 nett (handicap 27). Gama Obita was the guests’ champion.

Club captain Serwano Walusimbi reflects on the aspirations.

“It’s a new season and we are glad to have competitions back. We had good attendance and it’s the beginning. The quarterly’s which are a bigger stage are coming up and it’s going to be a good year,” he noted.

“As Entebbe club we will continue to give you a challenging and competitive course. With sponsors like MTN, we commit to always offer a good time with epic prizes,” Walusimbi added.

The MTN Monthly Tee has been held since 2023 with focus on competition and socializing at Entebbe club.
