Construction of the Police Football Club stadium is moving forward with the commencement of Phase 2.
On Tuesday, January 21st, a team of experts conducted crucial site assessments, marking the dimensions of the pitch to meet international standards and determining the optimal placement of the playing turf.
Earlier this year, a joint team comprising Ali Mwebe, Director of Football Development at the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), and SCP Timothy Halango, Chairman of Police FC, visited the construction site to oversee preparations for this crucial phase.
The team meticulously mapped out key aspects of the project, including pitch dimensions, turf placement, and other critical areas for development.
While the construction has faced delays, with the club initially aiming to use the grounds this season, Police Chairman SCP Timothy Halango confirmed that the project will proceed in phases.
The current focus is on Phase 2, with work on the playing surface and other key areas set to begin immediately. The club hope to have the stadium ready for use by the end of February.
Police currently host their matches at the Kavumba Recreation Grounds in Wakiso, sharing the venue with fellow Uganda Premier League side Bright Stars.
The new stadium, located near Kiira Road Police Station, is expected to provide a significant boost to the club and offer a modern, dedicated home ground for players and fans.
