Arsenal Grit Out Win at Wolves Despite Red Card

Arsenal overcame a first-half red card to secure a vital 1-0 victory at Wolves, keeping their Premier League title hopes alive.

Riccardo Calafiori’s second-half goal proved to be the difference in a gritty and controversial encounter.

The Gunners faced an uphill battle when Myles Lewis-Skelly was harshly sent off for a challenge on Matt Doherty. However, Joao Gomes’ second yellow card for Wolves leveled the playing field, and Arsenal capitalized with Calafiori’s well-taken goal.

The match was marred by two controversial red cards. Lewis-Skelly’s dismissal sparked outrage among Arsenal fans, with many believing a yellow card would have sufficed.

Gomes’ second yellow, while deserved, further highlighted the referee’s influence on the game.

Despite entering the game against a team with a porous set-piece defense, Arsenal failed to capitalize on their aerial advantage.

While they created chances from open play, their lack of dominance from set-pieces proved to be a missed opportunity.

Calafiori emerged as the hero for Arsenal, scoring his second goal for the club with a composed finish. His goal proved to be the decisive moment in a match that lacked quality at times.

The win keeps Arsenal within six points of league leaders Liverpool, although the Reds remain strong favorites.
