Renowned Ugandan musician Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, has spoken out about his son Alpha Thierry Ssali’s recent move to National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) Football Club, describing it as a proud and significant milestone.
The 20-year-old winger signed a two-year deal with the Uganda Premier League side departing from traditional giants Express.
In a heartfelt message, Bebe Cool celebrated his son’s two-year contract with the Uganda Premier League side, emphasizing the values that have driven his success.
“A proud moment for me as a father, congratulations to Alpha Thierry Ssali on officially signing a two-year contract with National Enterprise Corporation Football Club,” he said.
Bebe Cool highlighted the qualities that have defined Ssali’s journey so far, adding, “Your dedication, discipline, and hard work have paved the way for this milestone, and I have no doubt they will continue to elevate you to even greater heights.”
The iconic artist, who has been a vocal supporter of his son’s football career, offered words of wisdom to Ssali as he embarked on a new chapter with NEC.
“The journey is just beginning. Stay focused, remain humble, trust in Allah, and always strive for excellence,” he advised.
Alpha’s transfer to NEC has been one of the most talked-about moves in the January transfer window.
The Proline Academy graduate, who previously played for Express, decided to part ways with the Red Eagles in search of more playing time.
Despite signing a two-year deal with Express in August 2023, limited opportunities saw him feature in just 10 matches this season.
His move to NEC comes after a string of European trials that showcased his ambition to break into the professional football scene abroad.
Bebe Cool, a staunch supporter of his son’s career, has frequently expressed his dream of seeing Alpha play professionally in Europe.
It is believed NEC’s management included a clause in his new contract to facilitate a potential move abroad, keeping that dream alive.
NEC head coach Hussein Mbalangu will count on Ssali to strengthen his attacking options as the club pushes for their first league title.
However, the youngster faces stiff competition for a starting spot, particularly from standout winger James Jarieko.
